Susan also has a dry wit. This interchange in SD never fails to make me laugh (when Susan asks all the explorers to carry some hard-boiled eggs for the journey to the Amazon):
'I shan't want them,' said Roger.
'Perhaps you'd better leave your chocolate behind too,' said Susan, and Roger thought better of it and packed his eggs away like everybody else.
