Here is a link to an Aussie site which describes Bracken Fern quite well, and add some useful comments about it. It also says that the same plant occurs in Europe and America. It must have colonised all these areas a very long time ago, as it is described as a native in Oz. Maybe it is a very old type of plant, which evolved during the "Gondwana" era of evolution of the Earth ? I am no expert on this, so am prepared to be shot down in flames !
