Well, as Tarboard's 'Mr Trash' I am glad to read Kathy's post about the negative aspects of bracken and say that both farmers and environmentalists in the Lake District hate the stuff. The National Trust spends heaven knows how much each year trying to kill it off on the lower slopes. Bracken is highly invasive - a real 'coloniser' and really difficult to eradicate. With regard to Roger's foot poultice, it's an ill wind . . . But definitely not 3 million cheers for wretched bracken please!
