Hello Carla, and welcome. Your assumption is quite correct -- we emphatically do not think you're crazy for being an S&A fan.
I myself started reading these books in my mid-teens, and I suppose I re-read them all, in sequence, about every two years. And even after twenty or more readings I still come across something new each time.
Just make sure you introduce the books to your kids when the time comes.
(Oh yes, and if your present Other Half won't accompany you to the Lakes District again, swap him for one who will....)
