Does anyone know whether blueberries grow wild in the Lake District?

Yes, they do, but they are known more commonly in the UK as 'bilberries'. They are very common on the low Cheshire hills, near where I live, and also in N Wales. In my youth I spent many an afternoon picking them. (Sheep appear to like them too)

BTW, Jock, I fear that by 'eggheads' JW is referring to your Hez-Boila team. Perhaps it is a way of saying that you should boil your heads, or maybe not. Honestly, TarBoard is so complicated these days . . . I think I am getting one of Titty's headaches . . .
