The changes probably are driven by the TV time constraint and the cost of actors. i.e. purely commercial considerations.
All the videos look to me as if they have been made on the proverbial "shoe string".
One can almost hear the director: "It's only for kids anyway..."
Sad, when they could have been so much more accurate.
