I think that, with a higher level, the marshy area near Brown Howe ( SW Coniston ) would have made a fine horseshoe bay - complete with a sharp rock at the right hand side entering the bay.

Does anyne remember a risquŽ message that I posted in the early days of Tarboard where I had Nancy saying "Fire and Brimstone" rather than "Jibbooms and Bobstays"? Ian's hand hovered a couple of times over the "Delete" button. One of underlying assumptions was that the level of Lake Windermere had been lowered.

Ian, you know about such matters. Do you know whether my assumption is correct. (This has implications for Pull Beck Swamp for those who are wondering what on earth I am driving at.)
