I have a good friend and former colleague, a Chinese lady now in her early 30's, who took an MBA at Cambridge (Lucy Cavendish, not Newnham!) a couple of years ago. Knowing her admiration for Soong Ching Ling, I was going to give her a copy of "Missee Lee", but before doing so I opened it, re-read a few chapters, and decided not to!

Incidentally, the Wild Cat's "hundredth port" ought, from the description, to be Manila, but why is the Harbour Master not American, in that case?
