Peter, Thank you for the additional information. I would like to explain to you and fellow TarBoarders
why I am concerned at the current turn of events.

  1. The WSM contained a very effective display of AR related items, not just Mavis and Esperance,
but also material relating to Brigit Sanders and the formation of The Arthur Ransome Society.

  2. The WSM was a very effective "living museum". It was a wonderful example of the sort of "best
practice" relating to steam heritage that a group of us are trying to encourage in Poland.

  3. The WSM was not just a museum of steamboats, but contained a precious repository of knowledge
about their operation and restoration. Future plans should ensure that this is also preserved.

I think that this is a matter that will repay further investigation. If I find out anything more, I will report back
on TarBoard.
