I think Tarboard shows it's a healthy messageboard, because all the messages are worth reading (even the Beckfoot plumbing ones!). Lots of messageboards get clogged up with everyone under the sun making single-word or single-emoticon posts, or launching into two-way conversations which others aren't meant to join.
Who was it who said "If you can't think of anything to say, don't say anything"? Wise words.
