I wonder what the Globe and Mail thinks, though, about us reprinting such a big chunk of copyrighted material? They're probably not enthusiastic about the idea. If they're aggressive about that sort of thing, they might even demand that it be removed from the Web site - although that would be extreme. This seems to me to be acceptable usage.
I'm a newspaper reporter - for a much smaller paper than the Globe and Mail - and as my profession stumbles into the online world we wrestle with this question all the time. We want lots of people to see what we write, but we don't want our stuff to be used in a way that the people who pay us can't profit from it. There are a lot of fine lines, and nobody's quite sure where they are.
