How so, Jon? I'd say replying to a particular message is replying to the thread. Hard to see how it could be anything else. And it appears in the thread.

Plus there's a 'start new thread' button, and a facility to edit the subject title. It's all similar to (but not the same as) posting on Usenet, which is my usual home. The technology is different of course- we all use computers, but the software is quite other- but the disciplines are much the same.
