AR had a Stuart in "Peter Duck", and did not get on with it. But they are not as bad as Laurence makes out!

Perhaps AR and I have something in common when it comes to yacht engines (although he got on well enough with his Thorneycroft Handy Billy).

And I have nothing against Stuart Turner in principle. Two of their 5A cylinders wafted us delightfully down the Thames last September.

But the only ST Marine petrol engine I have sailed with - in 1964 from Kiel, through the German and Dutch Canals to Amsterdam and thence to Ramsgate - behaved exactly as I have described.
