Possibly, maybe even probably.

But an alternative scenario might be that while the bright young things were enjoying themselves on the ice the older generation - who maybe didn't even like skating - produced the hotpot and sent it down to the ice, carried by one of themselves.

I have known such things to happen - as at last year's TARSEast Rutland Water meeting, where a shore party carried the food and met the sailing party for lunch on a distant shore.
