Well, I made a seed cake last night and we had hunks of it (the kind of hunk that is really a hunk) warm for pudding with ice cream. I was surprised at how sophisticated it tasted, I wouldn't have chosen it as suitable for children. It was like time travel for the tastebuds. (This doesn't mean I'm going anywhere near pemmican...) If you want to try seed cake, Robert's mum's recipe is very good but my cake (baked in a 20 cm tin) only needed 30 mins, not the alarming 75 mins specified. My German-made scales turned out to have ounces on them but I have no idea what kind of ounces they are. Special Teutonically precise ones, probably.

I reckon that given the level of interest in AR food raised recently on Tarboard, you lucky English members should have a Captain Flint victory feast at the next AGM. Or do you do that already?
