I think ounces and pounds are the same everywhere where they are used at
all (except for weird things like troy ounces used for gold and silver).
I believe that there is no difference between British and US measures
of weight (or mass), only of volume: pints, gallons, etc.
(Yes, I do realise that the Teutonic ounces were a joke.)
