a square is quadgon, where all the sides are at 90 degrees
quad from the Latin
gon - a figure with all sides equal
Hence a sqaure is a special case of a gon with a special name
a rectangle is not a gon.
That answers the specific question asked in an earlier post.
Why do we look for similiarites in things, such as the gon's, is the same question asked in PP:
The children didn't know what signs to look for for the copper so they looked everywhere - SH knew what to look for, but was to slow.
It has perplexed science for 10,000 years as to which is the better method and I can not complain as I have used both. So aare far as I am concerned there is every likilhood in all those hours AR did not document of these children's lives that they asked their parents about geometry. Is there not?
