This is purely an AR question:
Would the SAD's have been required to learn geometry in High School and which text book would they have likely used?
(This will ultimately relate to all of my three recent posts, but humour me for a few days.)
In terms of the recent posts what is happening is purely the normal level of peer review.
Peer review (known as refereeing in some academic fields) is a process of subjecting an author's scholarly work or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the field. It is used primarily by editors to select and to screen submitted manuscripts, and by funding agencies, to decide the awarding of grants. The peer review process aims to make authors meet the standards of their discipline, and of science in general. Publications and awards that have not undergone peer review are likely to be regarded with suspicion by scholars and professionals in many fields.
We see peer review in the work on the copper experiments in PM.
So folks welcome to the world of science - where calling Einstein a misguided fool is the norm and the mad hatter is a clever scientist.
As far as I am concerned anyone who graduated a normal high school should have a grasp of geometry including Dick, John Susan Titty etc: is this a fair statement?
Finally navigation is all about keeping time and geometry:
1. counting to one hundred and going about
2. finding Peter Duck's island
3. coming home from Holland
We learn by being exposed to new ideas, AR exposed all of us to new exciting worlds, do you think he wants us to stop at the edge of the books and not experience the sorts of wonders he did.
