Hi guys, I'm new to the board and i've been reading down. With reference to navy style rowing, the Royal Navy taught rowing in a certain style as laid down in the Admiralty manual of seamanship vol 1. If people are interested i'll take a pic of the page from my 1937 copy.

How do I know this? I'm a naval history PhD student, writing about inter war Royal Navy officers at the moment. So if people want to expose the huge gaps in my knowledge feel free to ask questions.
