Spectral whiplash?
I looked up spectra to check if it was the same as spectron and the page included a warning on the dangers of whiplash. It made no suggestion that spectra reduced (or increased) these dangers. It did say, however, that the danger was greater in short ropes and those that were less 'dynamic'(a term that as a simple minded non-engineering type translate as 'stretchy').
