I don't quite get your logic on that first point - English women customarily curtsy, therefore American women ought to also? I don't think so. Is the Queen going to curtsy to me in return (in the highly unlikely event that I would ever meet her)? I doubt it - she doesn't curtsy to anyone, does she? (Or does she - I honestly don't know)
As to your second assertion - a cursory look at Wikipedia (which I freely acknowledge is a seriously flawed tool, but occasionally helpful nonetheless) indicates that 2% of the colonial population chose to leave the United States at the conclusion of the War of Independence, many going to Canada and some going to the West Indies, especially those that wanted to take their slaves with them.
Wikipedia also says, "While there is no way of knowing the actual numbers, historians estimate 15% to 25% of the colonists remained loyal to the British Crown." That leaves 75%-85% either neutral or Patriot.
I think you'll find that an awful lot of Americans get fairly heated up about things like curtsying to the Queen and dissing the American Revolution.
