I would be happy to have any edition's dust-jacket just to cover my old book
I'm an old curmudgeon who has let fly on this subject before, so Tarboarders of long-standing please excuse my repetition.

You could easily put a more modern dust-wrapper on an older book, even construct a fake photocopied wrapper, but a problem might arise later when eventually you pass this life and the book ends up in the hands of, say, a relative or friend who might not know as much about such books. The value of an old book is its rarity and while I cherish my battered old green reading copies I do get excited about the very rare appearances of first editions with wrappers.

I do urge you not to put a wrapper from a different year on the book - perhaps one day you may come across a similar book with a wrapper, even at a reasonable price!
