Seeing that this is a public discussion board, I should probably point out that camping is either explicitly or implicitly forbidden in most of the places under discussion i.e. Peel Island, Torver Common, Tilberthwaite Fells, Miterdale etc
Doesn't mean that people don't wild camp but it has to be done so discreetly that there is no cause for anyone regretting turning a blind eye to it.
