After a modified machine that I bought on the internet died, I found a DVD hacker page online, and bought a Durabrand model DVD1002 at Wal-Mart for $28! It plays more formats than my older Sony, and could be programmed through the remote control to region 0. It is a nice simple little machine with an opening door on top, thus avoidiung the mechanics of slide out trays.
