I must say I am very torn on this issue, to say most people are not duffers I am afraid is not true most of us can claim at least one dufferish moment in fact most would admit to several.
I was involved in Auto Sport for many years, when I first started death and serious injury were commonplace. Now with mandated regulations regarding
Safety equipment and vehicle construction serious injury or death is extremely rare.
We have in Florida an insane ruling that motor cyclists need not wear helmets, on the same basis that they can feel the wind in their hair, usually leading to the tarmac slicing into their skulls, this has led to increased medical costs to us all as the injuries are very expensive to repair and a lot of them do not carry medical insurance.
I think some regulation is needed but should be thought out rather than is often the case of politicians rushing in with a quick fix just to garner votes.
