Thanks Elizabeth, I'm glad you enjoyed "If Not Duffers", but although I maintain it, it's not intended to be my website. It's a facility available to all AR enthusiasts. If any TarBoarder wants to write something that would benefit from the format, I'll be happy to advise on how to submit material. (I'm really keen on links and photographs!)

and finishing up with a long perusal of various maps of the Pull Wyke area, trying to figure out where the house-made-into-school featured in Ian Hobb's "Beckfoot Found" article. Thanks for the link!

I think quite a few of us have done the same, I know that I certainly have. The close correspondence between certain aspects of the Crossley household and that of the Blacketts seems an unlikely coincidence. But, if the first really did inspire the second, the absence of any documented link between Ransome and the Crossley girls is curious.
