I really like PM too. I have so many mental 'photographs' from the book.
Preparing Beckfoot for the GA's arrival, guddling for trout with Jackie,
the episode with the Rabbit, taking delivery delivery of Scarab, the visit
of the 'seal', the night burglary, and the re-alignment of the relationship
between the GA and Nancy, all particularly stick in my memory. The fear
of discovery, is ever present and AR skilfully notches up the tension as the
book progresses. A simple, plot device, but executed in a masterly manner.
