Sorry if this has been exhaustively discussed before, but any thoughts on Emma Holt of Tent Lodge as the prototype G.A.?

There is an interesting story covering Tent Lodge, with a reference to AR basing Beckfoot on the house

PS as an aside, I can strongly recommend a visit to the old Holt homestead, Sudley House in Liverpool. More info on their website
