It does, indeed, look like a number of Kodak 620 types I've seen in the past. As for the shutter speed, since he was seated, his knee would have been a relatively stable support, and given the lesser degree of enlargement needed for that 2-1/4 x 3-1/4 negative, 1/25 wouldn't have been beyond what he would have considered safe. Also, I'm sure he was more concerned with getting a reasonably well-exposed, if marginally blurry, "record shot" than a sharp, but thin, negative that would have given a dark blob.

While we're on the subject of Dick's camera, I wonder how he determined the correct amount of flash powder to use in his home-made reflector for BS. I don't recall their having made any test shots before. Perhaps he was in the habit of developing films by inspection? Although if that was his practice, he certainly could have used a faster shutter speed in GN.
