The entire back did not open for the Autographic feature, just a small panel, and one wrote on the paper film backing with no light fogging the film. These cameras were discontinued in about 1930 or so and the film probably soon thereafter. I still have a larger 620 Autographic which I bought in the summer of 1955 for about $12 which was a small fortune at the time.

I wrote Kodak and asked if they still made the film, and they kindly replied that it was no longer made, but I could use regular 620 film with out the autographic feature.

At the time I was very very interested in early cameras due to Dick and his work in The Big Six. In the early fifties I wanted to use flash powder, like Dick did; but I do not think it was even available, especially to a kid, as flash bulbs readily available.

The other day I was thinking of all the things I became interested in due to Mr. Ransome's books.
