I will include a piece of the last post in the future. bear with me I am new to the board.
Please; do as you think best. There's absolutely no rule, and most people don't quote from previous posts, and rely on the thread display to know what the previous post contains. But that implies going back into previous posts to find out what they said. I find it so much easier to have the key points indicated in the message itself.
It's just that I'm used to Usenet (newsgroups) and email, where the ability to quote is built in. And of course sometimes it's abused, and you see people quoting the entire 200 lines of the previous post with a "Me too!" stuck on the end. For historical reasons, these are known as AOL posts... However, after years and years of Usenet (and Fidonet before that) I think that properly pared down quoting is tremendously useful, and makes it quicker and more comfortable to use message boards as well.
But that's just me. I'm an old fart; the future belongs to people like you. Just do what seems sensible and best.
