Further to my earlier comment about trolling. Mike Dennis is persistently denying the evidence presented by myself and others that Rowling has created readers from people who were not reading before. He states his opinion without offering any evidence for his belief that Rowling's phenomenal sales and obvious popularity have created no new readers or at the best only a few. I would love to understand why he thinks that is the case.
I am not denying that if Rowling had never existed, my son would not have eventually started reading some other author. All I am saying is that it was Rowling's books which started him.
