Peter,
I don't think Ian was objecting to anyone posting any views on his forum.

All he suggested is that in a threaded forum it is possible for any number of different conversations to run along together on contemporaneous threads. Those who enjoy Beckfoot architectural detail may nitpick away to their hearts' content over the exact alloy in the plumber's solder while in another thread others could be discussing Ransome's experiences with the Bolsheviks and the significance of royalty in Lenin's chess pieces and in a third thread, the Freudians could be discussing whether the expression "jibbooms and bobstays" has a meaning more adult than is usually recognised by AR scholars.
