Well, I signed up to facebook again (it's true, they keep your details for ever) and had a look.

It's a bit dispiriting; this forum is so much better presented, and their threads are so much less well informed and enthusiastic.

So there are two possibilities; we all go there and make it better. This is doable, despite the crummy linear message set-up.

Or we ask Ian to keep the setup in aspic, and wait for him to return from his time away. Then next year we carry on.

But this depends on the Baltic Pilot not wanting to retire on shore to stay with his daughters.

Quite seriously, the little touches (the telephone dial label, the fire fighters' notice, the Potter Heigham weighing machine ticket) do make a great difference. So does the 'latest messages' feature. We're used to the Rolls Royce of forums here... It would be pretty grotty to settle for less.

As they said when a first burst of economy hit the City way back when and they were advised to trade in their Rollers for Austin Princesses:

'My god, how exhaustin' to be forced in to an Austin'.
