Further to Claire's post 32997,

It was interesting to zoom in on different parts of the island and see the changes from AR's day.

and my subsequent post 32999

a much reduced Stone Point (Flint Island),

here's some mapping of this area from AR's time compared to current satellite photographs.

Huge amounts of sand dredged up from the Harwich/Felixtowe fairway have been dumped
at Stone Point. This sand has been swept around by the tides and now gives the coastline
and the Straits of Magellan their bright sandy edge. The long-term threat to Stone Point,
Horsey Island and The Naze itself are all to apparent from the 1930s/2000s overlay.

I would love to see a 1930's Admiralty Chart of the Walton Backwaters as I would guess that
this was the basis of all of the maps of the area drawn by AR. Can any kind TarBoarder help?
