Metafiction and Bridget

I've just finished re-reading Great Northern (not by any means one of my favorites, and the first time I've read it in 15+ years) and I'm still tempted to prefer this book's metafictional status alongside that of PD and ML.

Amongst my thoughts is the non-presence of Bridget. After her appearance in (the "real") SW as a major character - and starring role in the corroboree - she doesn't appear again. There's no mention of her in GN, but then she didn't appear in ML and PD either.

Apologies if this has been raised before. It's the first time it has struck me.
