Peter I agree with you about the Latin (cod or real), using any knowledge you have as a way of excluding others is never big or clever (or funny!) whereas imparting knowledge is why we all are here (well, our opinions too!).
What interests me more is your use of 'what goes around, comes around', this is an odd phrase that I first became aware of in the 1980s in TV interviews with members of the general public who, shall we say, were a bit inarticulate. As I heard it more and more I tried to find its origin, and drew a blank even in the updated Brewers. I'm not even sure what people mean by it - I assume it has something to do with revenge or that if you act in a certain way at sometime those actions will come back to you in a way you wont like. These days it used by some people as if it is one of those English sayings that have been around since at least Shakespeare!
