As well Peggy would have been fairly unemployed as a crew as I am sure that Nancy would have wanted to keep the mainsheet under her control as well as steer. Neither the Swallow nor the Amazon had a jib so basically Peggy would have been intelligent and mobile ballast with eyes to watch the watch and/or the Swallows trailing behind.
