I always thought of her as more a Margaret Rutherford type of person ('web-footed grandmother' was Ransome's sketch). But Rosemary Leach, for it was she, carried it off beautifully, as did the also arguably miscast Port-and-Starboard twins and the Dimbleby boy who played Tom (high praise since I believe he's my favourite Ransome character). In fact the whole thing is beautifully realised and vastly superior to the S&A film with Ronald Fraser.
And the signature tune is just irresistable. (If only I didn't like the decadent Hullabaloo jazz music so much...)
