This was the third version of a steam engine Meccano produced. It was made for them by Mamod and ran very well.
It used the same style of baseplate as the vertical boilered 1929 engine. Meccano produced plans to incorporate this engine in a steam crane and examples can still be seen working at exhibitions today. Again these engines run very well.
The earliest engine was made in 1914 but did not develop much because of the onset of WW1. However Meccano did produce a nice saw bench and butter churn to be powered by this engine.
