Oh yes. Except those push-mowers were jolly hard work, especially if the grass was long. Or wet. Nancy really must have been a pretty tough cookie, I reckon....

But I'm having trouble visualising how that catcher could have worked very effectively. The mower we had didn't have a roller, and so the catcher could be (and was) located behind the cutters instead of in front of them.

There it worked pretty well -- the grass flew up from the back of the cutters and was caught in the catcher okay. But that was mainly because the operator was continually pushing the machine in under the air-borne grass so that it fell back in the right place.

But with the catcher on the front? Hh'mmm....
