In my TXT files, which of course [or should that be - or course] do not have any graphics in them, I do give a one liner reference to the drawings with a page number and the TITLE. In the same folder with the several TXT files (one per chapter) I also have a collection of phtographs I made of these illustrations, with the name of the JPG file having a page number as a part of it, so I can, if I wish, bring up that illustration in a separate application from the TXT editor being used to view the chapters themselves to view the illustration. In addition to the photos of the illustrations from the book, I also have in the folder for this book several photographs taken from several sources, some from here on TarBoard, many from Tony Richard's LAKELANDCAM.CO.UK that show scenes directly related to these stories, as well as some sent to me personally by individuals sharing in my interest in All Things Ransome, which are greatly appreciated. It all makes for very delightful viewing.
Thank you all for sharing and being a part of these stories. You all have taught me much - and there is much more to learn.
