But we already know. I noted some years ago (in a letter to Dave Sewart) that in GN? John and Nancy show rather typical mid-teens behavior. They wander off on their own for several hours without much evident purpose or any report of what transpired. They are off-stage from the end of chapter 14 until chapter 17.
Perhaps Ransome wrote no more stories because, while he could deal with Nancy having mumps, Nancy with a bun in the oven was a bit much.
