... to Rob Boden for his hospitality and Robert Thompson for his erudition, during Jenn's and my flying visit to the Lake District in September. In two short days, Rob sustained us with tea and biscuits, showed me the Dog's Home, and took me out to Wild Cat Island, while Robert hosted us on a full-blown Coniston Launch voyage, pointing out from the water so many places of interest to an old AR fan like me.

I apologise to both people for not having thanked them publicly before this, but the next two-and-a-half months saw us out of internet reach for most of the time, and it's only now that we're home again that I have a chance to post properly.

Our extended time in Wester Ross meant that we had to save our visit to the Broads region till our next trip, but I was at least able to catch up for an extended telephone chat with my one-and-only East Coast friend, John Williams (he who Saves Old Seagulls.) I'd hate to think how many emails and message via the Eventide Owners Group we've exchanged over the years, but I was still surprised to hear that John too speaks with an English accent....

Thank you, friends, for proving yourselves just that.

Mike
