'Color-blind' (racially mixed) casting is a convention of modern theatre, and to my mind, usually comes off quite well. (A movie version of this can be seen in the 1993 Branagh film, Much Ado About Nothing). While this play may turn out to have problems, I don't think that having black actors will be the cause of them. My preferred fate is that Swallows and Amazons, the Musical, turns out to be popular and brings more people to the books.
The publicity pictures make me think that they're going for a Peter Pan vibe.
