But I REALLY disagree with the original post. Why should a "multi-cultural" "inner city" audience enjoy Swallows and Amazons?

It was set in the 1920s! There are pirates in it! Unlike Othello or Uncle Tom's Cabin, the ethnicity of the characters has zero bearing on the plot.

AARGH!
