Of course inner city audiences can enjoy it, but why does it have to be altered? More of an insult to them, something along the lines of - we know you not capable of really understanding this so we'll change it. I sincerely hope not.

1920s, well 1929. In any discussion here I've not seen anyone make that point. As the whole canon is set in the 1930s that seems to be the reference point for most people.
