Peter Roche has contacted me to say that around 1995 he was instructed by the old National Committee of TARS and funds were made available to approach the BBC for a copy of their 1963 film, but when they extracted it from the Can they found it had deteriorated beyond repair.
Peter also received a copy of one episode from Susan George (T/Kitty in the film) - but this was so poor that the credits were unreadable!
I am not sure what the policy of the BBC would be to deteriorated film - would the bins it or replace it on the shelf?
