At age eleven through about fifteen, I was checking out five books at time (five was the limit) and returning them all read in five days or less and getting five more. And these were not light weight books. I was reading Harold Lamb - "Tamerlane" and "Ghenghis Khan" and the entire Sherlock Holmes series and so on. I read the entire 12 (our junior high school library had all twelve) of Mr. Ransome's books in less than a month and was totally hooked. Does anyone remember the Tod Moran series by Howard Pease?
