I agree, although I understand the urge to treat our childhood friends as inhabiting sacred texts, the originals wont be harmed by derivatives.
personally, I'd love to see a C21 version, transported to North America, to someplace with lots of lakes and islands and few enough people to make the children's adventures seem credible. Plenty of hullabaloos on jet skis, rare nesting birds, abandoned mining claims and forest fires to keep Nancy busy.
